Our academic staff are selected for their ability to teach the most current industry knowledge. They offer students thorough knowledge of tourism, hotel and events management concepts and theories, and also share their practical industry experiences.
Dr Alfred Ogle,
Associate Dean Hospitality and Tourism
With a passion for applied research, his areas of interest is everything pertaining to hotels with particular focus on hotel product and service innovation, hotel facilities design and hotel guest-management interfacing resulting in many publications and research projects.
Alfred is an advocate of close industry-academic ties and of the belief that practice informs theory which in turn enlightens practice. Originally hailing from Malaysia, he is passionate about preparing aspiring hoteliers for the challenges of our unique industry by honing their professional attitude and aptitude.
Nadezhda (Nadia) Eliseyeva
Senior Lecturer & Industry Liaison Manager
Nadia’s interests are in the fields of globalisation, hospitality marketing and customer service. Active in academic research, she brings to the teaching team experience in front office and guest relations operations in the Middle East.
Nadia’s role at ASTHM as Senior Lecturer involves the delivery of subjects such as Financial Information for Decision Making and Introduction to Tourism and Hospitality Management. As the Industry Liaison Manager, she keeps close ties with key people in tourism, hospitality and events in addition to industry peak bodies. This close industry relationship and valuable work placement is the hallmark of ASTHM.
